Biography
George Stephenson revolutionized transportation by developing the steam locomotive and building the world's first successful public railway, the Stockton and Darlington line in 1825. Despite humble origins and illiteracy until adulthood, his engineering genius transformed industrial society and connected nations through rail networks. His Locomotion No. 1 and later the Rocket established him as the father of railways.
